The Carol poster is split into two halves and each one is perfection. Top half: Cate Blanchett as Carol, that magnificent blonde hair swept up, wrapped in a luxurious fur coat, cheekbones that could cut glass, gazing off into the distance with an expression that says "I know exactly what I want and society be damned." Soft warm peach tones, snowflakes barely visible. Bottom half: Rooney Mara as Therese — dark pixie hair, a gorgeous striped colorful scarf at her throat, holding a camera, looking DIRECTLY at us with these enormous dark eyes that are falling in love in real time. The title CAROL in clean white between them. This is what longing looks like. I am devastated and delighted simultaneously.
