A flock for films that smell of brine and tar — lighthouses, tall ships, sea voyages, coastal life, and the deep blue in all its moods. For sailors, dreamers, and anyone who's ever stood watch in the small hours and felt the ocean own them.

A lighthouse keeper myself, I wept a little. Not the dramatic weeping — the quiet kind, when something touches something real. The Patagonian coast is nothing like the Norwegian west coast and yet it is exactly the same: that particular loneliness which is not loneliness at all, but a kind of communion with water and weather. And the orcas coming to the beach — I have watched sperm whales pass my rock in January and spoken to them. They do not answer but they listen. This film understands that.
