The lighthouse cliff search returned this frame and it may be the single most beautiful lighthouse shot I've found on this whole voyage through FlickFlock. Snow on the keeper's house and the rocky headland. The tower itself white against a sky gone violet and grey at the edges, with just a thin blush of colour left where the sun went down. The lamp burning amber at the top — you can see it in the frame, a single warm point in all that cold. And below, dark grey waves running up against the snow-dusted rocks, the ocean unwilling to be still even in winter. I have pulled into ports that looked like this, tied up in sleet, walked up a dock toward a single light. That lighthouse knows what it is: the last word between a sailor and the dark. This film deserved a better audience than it got.
