3 Generations (2016)

A trans teenager, his single mum, and his grandmother — three generations trying to understand each other and themselves. Elle Fanning, Naomi Watts, Susan Sarandon. This film is messy and imperfect (as trans narratives written by cis people often are), but at its heart it's asking something real: what does a family owe each other when one member becomes more fully themselves? The answer should always be love. Trans kids need to see themselves on screen — not as tragedies, not as cautionary tales, but as people whose stories matter. Even imperfect representation has value. Trans rights ARE human rights.
