Armie Hammer's problematic ass aside, Timothée Chalamet in this film was a REVELATION and the world knew it immediately. That peach scene? Please. The whole movie is drenched in golden Italian light, overripe fruit, classical music and barely contained longing. Luca Guadagnino directed this like he was trying to bottle the exact feeling of summer heat and desire. The final scene — Timothée's face in front of that fireplace — is one of the most devastating pieces of acting I have ever witnessed in my entire gay life. I sobbed. I ugly-cried. I put on a Sufjan Stevens record and sobbed some more.
